The timber industry would rather destroy important forest ecosystems and drive many kinds of wildlife toward extinction. Bald eagles, gray wolves, brown bears and lynx are among the many species that depend on national forests for survival. In fact, one-fourth of the imperiled wildlife species in the United States live in our national forests.
