Straight Arrow is an authentic Apache Indian style tipi. It is 22 feet in diameter and can sleep up to 6. There is a fire pit inside for cooking and a little heat. The paintings on the exterior cover all tell a story in Indian sign language. When I designed the tipi I had to tell the tipi maker what story that I wanted to tell of my life. The inside liner is also painted and tells a story. The door of the tipi also tells a story.
The construction of the tipi is incredibly simple and efficient, having been developed over hundreds of years by the Native Americans. The outside Cover and inside Liner work together to provide the draft needed to keep air moving through the interior of the tipi. This supplies ventilation to provide some cooling in the summer, and insulation to provide some warmth in the winter. Equally important is the draft needed for the fire. This will help to keep air on the fire and to keep the smoke going straight up.
