Formerly the popular Sandbox Cottage, A Pelican’s Perch Cottage has new owners, has benefitted from a total renovation, and is even better than before!

Some things haven’t changed, such as the much sought-after 3-bedroom configuration, TWO screen porches, a huge back yard providing a breathtaking view of a scenic marsh abundant with wildlife, and a glimpse of the Atlantic Ocean from the front. (This is a second-row duplex cottage located just a two-minute walk to the Melrose beach.)

And for our cold weather guests, the A Pelican’s Perch Cottage continues to be one of the few Melrose beach cottages that has a working fireplace.

The cottage continues to be under the management of Daufuskie’s premier property management company, Daufuskie Rental Group, dedicated to superior guest service both before and during your visit.

Guests should know that the cottage's interior has just been entirely re-painted. It also has all new beautiful flooring, unique light fixtures, and professional decorating touches throughout.

But the real signature space is the huge back screened porch with a comfy seating area, and…most of all, a lovely swing bed for reading and afternoon naps!

As before, all conveniences are available, including high-speed fiber optics internet and cable, and a smart TV in every room.

In short, the A Pelican’s Perch Cottage provides a luxury setting perfect for a family vacation, a reunion of good friends, or a special event.

Cottage guests will find a true island sanctuary located on a low-country coastal island known for its abundant wildlife, pristine beaches, friendly people, and rich cultural history.

SPECIAL NOTES

- The maximum occupancy is 6 guests, but 1-2 additional young children will be welcome. Pack n play available upon request.

- Pet Policy: One well-behaved adult dog weighing less than 30 pounds is allowed. A non-refundable pet fee of $125 is required. (For questions about the pet policy, please consult with your DRG property manager.)

- DRG representatives will help provide contacts for booking your passenger-only ferry or water taxi to Daufuskie, ground transportation to your property, and a golf cart to get around the island. Team members are on-site to assist with any questions or requests while you are here.

Melrose on the Beach, a neighborhood in Daufuskie Island, is home to this cottage. The area's natural beauty can be seen at Coligny Beach and Tybee Island Beach. Hilton Head Zipline and The Sandbox are also worth visiting.
