This luxury property has recently undergone a complete renovation, and offers discerning island visitors a private and breathtakingly beautiful home overlooking the Melrose beach and Atlantic Ocean.

The Water Oak Cottage literally has it all! Professionally decorated with an exquisite attention to detail, the cottage interior offers a restful and lovely setting with the ocean practically in your front yard. The Water Oak Cottage is a free-standing building, and not a duplex arrangement like most Melrose cottages. (Talk about privacy!) Guests will enjoy every corner of this cottage, with the lighting, art work, and furnishings all reflecting a sense of both livability and style.

The Melrose beach is mere steps away from the Water Oak Cottage.

2) Your rental agreement contract's cancellation policy states that we are not responsible for events that are beyond our control, such as hurricanes. We strongly encourage our guests to purchase travel insurance, and especially recommend "cancel for any reason" policies. (These must be purchased shortly after your reservation is made.)

3) Please note that because the Melrose Resort is in transition, our Melrose guests may notice a certain level of deterioration in the resort-owned buildings but will also see that renovation efforts are now underway. Our vacation cottages are in well-maintained areas and continue to be extremely popular.

Concerned about the logistics of coming to a bridge-less island? No need to worry! Guests receive information and assistance from the DRG team, all of whom live on the island and who are available 24/7 for any problems. Team members strive to create a stress-free and enjoyable adventure for their visitors, and to ensure that their Daufuskie experience creates lasting and once-in-a-lifetime memories.
The living area features an open floor plan including comfortable seating areas, a fully equipped kitchen, a large flat-screen TV over the fireplace, and of course the fabulous ocean vista. The adjoining screened-in porch (soon to be furnished with high-end outdoor furniture) overlooks the ocean, and provides a perfect setting for morning coffee and evening cocktails. No pets allowed at this property.

The master bedroom with ensuite bath includes a king-size bed and luxurious bedding. The second bedroom also has an ensuite bath, and includes two queen beds. Coastal artwork, ceiling fans, and a direct view of the Atlantic ocean offer occupants of both rooms a lovely respite from the real world.

Other benefits of this exceptional vacation home include a gas grill, an outdoor hot/cold water shower, and fiber optics high-speed internet. Of course, beach chairs and beach toys are provided.
