A simple, roomy and perfectly equipped California mid-century wine country home with views over the town and Alexander Valley. Cloverdale is the northernmost town in Sonoma County at the end of the Alexander Valley. Interesting restaurants, shops, galleries, an organic grocery, a fine little movie house and a superior coffee spot have popped up recently. Our location is a bit removed from it all, but walking distance to town (5 minutes down a fairly steep hill).
The deck features a 150-year-old oak tree with outdoor furniture, grill, barbecue, hammock and hot tub and view.
The master bedroom has a Cal King bed, en-suite bathroom and Apple TV. Each of the other bedrooms are set up as offices and have termpur-pedic sofa beds – one a queen and the other a full. They can easily be left open to convert the offices into bedrooms. They share the second bathroom. One bedroom has a flat screen TV with premium cable. There is also a TV with limited cable in the kitchen.
There is off street parking for 3 cars very comfortably. No garage, but storage sheds are on premise.
A dog is welcome in the fenced yard, as are smokers if you promise to smoke outside. No cats – even outdoor cats.
Cloverdale is 10 minutes to Geyserville, 10 to Dry Creek Valley, 15-20 minutes to Healdsburg and Hopland and 35 to the Anderson Valley. The Russian River is 5 minutes, Lake Sonoma (boating and hiking) 15 minutes and the Sonoma Coast a 1-hr drive through the Redwoods. Dozens (hundreds?) of wineries are within short drives. It is about 85 miles or 1½ hours to San Francisco, depending on traffic.
Also available for an additional rent is the Little House. A cottage near the main house, the Little House is a large studio space with a separate kitchen, bathroom, queen bed, a sitting/dining area with TV set up for movies and Apple TV and its own deck with the same great view. It can easily double as a home office or guest room, if more space is needed than in the main house.
