The Victorian has been completely remodeled with 3 bedrooms, 3 bath, a new kitchen, dining, living and large entry room. A wrap around porch features several spaces where you can enjoy the views of the mountains and vineyards. The house features lovely antiques along with modern touches.
This beautiful Queen Anne Victorian was originally built in 1885 by Eurastus M. Shelford on property given to him by his father, John Shelford III, that was purchased in 1863 as part of the Rancho Rincon de Musalacon Land Grant. The Victorian was damaged by a fire in the early 20th century and rebuilt in 1910. During the 1930's the family built a smaller cottage which sits more than 35 feet from the back door of the Victorian. Six generations of the Shelford family have lived either in the house or on adjoining ranch properties for over one hundred and thirty years.  The Shelford family sold the property in the early 1980's.  The new owners built the Carriage House in 1984 and continued operating as a bed and breakfast.  In 2009, the property was once more sold, operating as Auberge in the Vineyard until our family purchased it in 2017.
Today the Victorian on the Vineyard continues to offer guests a serene, relaxing environment for their getaway. Each one of the buildings combines modern comforts with the nostalgia of Victorian splendor. Guests may feel as though they've stepped as they enjoy living among the Shelford family's original antiques.
All three buildings sit on a knoll. Guests can relax on the wrap-around porch of the Victorian, the deck of the Cottage or Studio or the balconies of the Carriage House experiencing an endless view of the Alexander Valley vineyards that surround the property.
Perfectly located on the north side of the Alexander Valley, less than a mile from downtown Cloverdale, guests are within walking distance of the Russian River and a short drive to a multitude of wineries in any direction. The Victorian on the Vineyard is the perfect spot for your wine country vacation.
