Planning your wedding involves a mammoth of a planning process. If you’re going to do a destination wedding, then one of the many things you’ll need to decide on is transportation. Here are top tips to help you plan that out.
Get a headcount
If you’re going to provide transportation for your guests, determine who’s going to be on the list, A Practical Wedding says. Is it going to include everyone in the bridal brigade? Will it include the groom and bride’s parents or grandparents? A lot of couples do this for the convenience of keeping everyone together as well as to prevent any logistical difficulties. If you don’t want to worry about your family getting lost or stuck in traffic because they took a wrong turn, then make sure they’re on the list.
Book early
When you book a wedding transportation in Malibu, do it in advance, the Wedding Wire says. Don’t do it when you’re only a few days or weeks away from the D-Day. If you’re booking during peak times, then you’ll need to contact the transportation rental service a few months—about four to six months—before you walk down the aisle.
Establish a budget
Make sure your finances can handle the cost. Consider low-cost options that can provide your family with a comfortable means of moving from the hotel to the church or from the church to the reception area and back again to the hotel.
Consider the size
How many are going? Will there be enough room for everyone? That’s a consideration you’ll need to factor in when you look for wedding transportation in Malibu for your guests.
Ask about fees
Are there any extra fees? Find out what circumstances or requests may incur you additional charges. In most cases, companies will charge you a fixed rate for a full day or a half day’s worth of waiting and driving around. You’ll incur extra charges when you go beyond those hours. Other services or requests will also get you charged extra. Find out what those are so you can either adjust your budget or find a way to go around those requests.
Read the fine print
As with any contract, don’t sign up with a rental service until you go over the terms and conditions, chapter and verse. This should include everything you talked about and agreed on—from the total cost and the deposits required to the refund policies, gratuity policy and more. If there’s anything that’s been left out, ask the firm to add in those details before you put your signature on the contract.
Be creative
Limos aren’t the only way to go around. Get creative. A school bus or a wedding trolley or even a horse-drawn carriage are just some of the choices you can go for. As a bit of a wedding surprise, you may even want to rent a car that the groom or bride loves. That’s going to provide the couple with the perfect ride to the ceremony.
