Carla Bonfitto, DPT - BURLINGTON, NJ

Carla Bonfitto is a Physical Therapist at NovaCare?s clinic in Burlington, located at 2103 Burlington-Mount Holly Road. As a member of the NovaCare clinical team, Carla assures exceptional patient care by fully engaging each individual in the rehabilitative process. From evidence-based treatment, to one-on-one encouragement and patient education, her competence is evident. Carla?s background includes the treatment of patients in acute/sub-acute care, out patient rehabilitation and outpatient sports medicine. She has managed traumatic, orthopedic and geriatric case loads and most enjoys treating sports related injuries of the knee, shoulder and scapula. During her clinical internships Carla gained valuable experience, insight, and a genuine understanding of helping patients cope with physical and functional limitations. With this knowledge she has created her hallmark of compassionate and motivational patient care.

Carla is an alumna of Widener University in Chester, Pennsylvania, where she earned both her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, with Deans List honors, and her Doctorate of Physical Therapy. During her studies she participated in the Mercy Pro-Bono Clinic in Philadelphia working with uninsured individuals performing initial evaluations, special tests, and interventions under the tutelage of a certified physical therapist. Carla has completed the continuing education course, Advanced Treatment of the Lower Quarter in Runners and is currently involved in establishing a program to screen high school athletes for possible knee injuries. In addition Carla is certified in the Graston Technique?, an advanced method of soft tissue mobilization to decrease pain and increase function, and is an active participant in NovaCare?s Clinical Excellence Program for best evidence based practice. Carla is a Certified Clinical Instructor and her future plans include earning her designation of Orthopedic Clinical Specialtist to further enhance the quality of care for her patients.
