Restaurant Description
Caffe Capri was opened on September 18.1995 by Rami Cerone, Texas A&M class of '95 relying solely on cash advances from his credit cards. A major undertaking since downtown was not yet revitalized, but 10 years later, the restaurant continues to grown and enjoy a great reputation. the menu is a combination of recipes: the left side consists of items that come directly from the Cerone family kitchen. The right side is the result of Rami constantly experimenting with different ingredients - what you see are the recipes that actually worked.

The marinara sauce is a secret recipe from his father's family. So secret in fact, that until November of 1995, his father would come twice a week just to make 30 gallons of sauce (but not before chasing everyone out of the kitchen). Thankfully however, business picked up and twice a week was no longer enough so Rami finally learned the recipe. The open kitchen is there so you can see the food being prepared - we have nothing to hide.

Annually since the year 2000, we have been voted the best locally owned Italian restaurant in the Brazos Valley. In 2005, we won a position in the inaugural Aggie 100 which ranks the 100 fastest growing Aggie owned companies in the world. In 2003, we were honored by being chosen for the Mayor's downtown impact award. In 2001, we were awarded a place on the Newman top 10 - an annual recognition for the fastest growing privately held businesses in the Bryan/College Station area.

This building was originally a grocery store, however, only the tin ceiling remains original - the rest has been remodeled. The tables and columns are made of a stone called Rose Tavertine that was taken from an old downtown Bryan building. Upstairs, we offer a private banquet room that can seat up to 60 people. The upbeat Blues music, although different for an Italian restaurant, adds to the comfortable atmosphere and the unique decor.
