Wrongful Foreclosure? 12/31=New Appeal Deadline
The Independent Foreclosure Review -- La Revisión Independiente de la Ejecución de Hipoteca
As part of a consent order with Federal Bank Regulators, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), the Office of Thrift Supervision (OTS) (independent bureaus of the U.S. Department of the Treasury), and the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, 14 mortgage servicers and their affiliates are identifying customers who were part of foreclosure actions on their primary residences during the period from January 1, 2009 to December 31, 2010. The Independent Foreclosure Review provides homeowners with an opportunity to request an independent review of their foreclosure process. If it is determined that a customer was wrongly foreclosed on, he or she may be entitled to a lump sum payment, suspension or rescission of the foreclosure, a loan modification, credit report update, or a reduced deficiency amount. Lump sum payments will be separate and apart from any mortgage balance still due. Even if a home is still mired in the foreclosure process, a customer may still qualify for assistance. Go to www.independentforeclosurereview.com for a list of the mortgage servicers, and information about the review process, OR contact me at [email protected] for information. Please note that you waive no rights by requesting a review. Your request for a review must be submitted online or postmarked no later than December 31, 2012.
IMPORTANT: The independent foreclosure review is free. Watch out for scams. There is only one Independent Foreclosure Review. Beware of anyone who asks you to pay a fee for any foreclosure review service, such as completing the Request for Review Form. Call 888-952-9105.
