Dr. George Kramer - BOHEMIA, NY

A native of Long Island, Dr. George Kramer dreamed of becoming a veterinarian since he was a young boy. His undergraduate studies took place at the University of Vermont and the University of Maryland, where he graduated with honors. After completing his undergraduate studies, he moved to Boston and entered a master?s program in molecular biology at Northeastern University. He then entered veterinary school at Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine and earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1986. Dr. Kramer subsequently completed a medicine and surgery internship, followed by a residency in internal medicine and cardiology at the prestigious Animal Medical Center in New York City.

Dr. Kramer is board-certified as a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in cardiology. He is the founder and chief of staff of Atlantic Coast Veterinary Specialists in Bohemia, NY as well as the founder and chief operating officer of Ultravet Mobile, a veterinary mobile ultrasound provider. He has professional interests in cardiology, internal medicine, oncology, ultrasonography and echocardiography. In addition to his busy practices, Dr. Kramer serves as ultrasonographer for the Bronx Zoo and Coney Island Aquarium and was recently appointed a fellow of the Wildlife Conservation Society. New York Magazine has listed Dr. Kramer as the best veterinary cardiologist in the NY city area.

Dr. Kramer has lectured locally, nationally and internationally. He has given lectures at the annual forums of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine, International Symposia of the Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society, Veterinary Professional Quest Conferences, Atlantic Coast Veterinary Conferences, Western States Veterinary Conference, University of Paris Veterinary College, Westchester-Rockland Veterinary Medical Association, New York City Veterinary Medical Association and Long Island Veterinary Medical Association. He has published groundbreaking research on cardiomyopathy, novel interventional techniques and valve disease.

Dr. Kramer is passionate about veterinary medicine, music, skiing and fishing.
