If you have a 'thing' for the islands of the Florida Keys then come have a fabulous get away at 'Our Island Thing.' Do not be cramped on vacation - at over 1900 square feet and beds to sleep 8 comfortably - there is room for your whole family, extended family, or even two families.
Located in the Doctors Arm subdivision of Big Pine Key on a double lot with 100 feet of canal frontage and a boat slip Our Island Thing provides easy boating access to the back country, ocean, Looe Key Sanctuary and, Bahia Honda State Park for the best fishing, diving, kayaking, and beach combing in the Keys.
Big Pine Key is home to the only population of Key Deer in the world. They can often be seen milling around in yards and even walking down the streets. Speaking of walking, the famous No Name Pub is within easy walking distance of Our Island Thing for great pizza and cold beer. To take a walk on the wild side Key West is only 30 minutes away.
Our Island Thing is a very spacious, four bedroom, two full bath, solid CBS, private home with dual zone central air. The house has a relaxing tropical décor that is comfortable but not overdone. No smoking or pets are allowed. Outside security cameras provide peace of mind and an extra level of security for boats, fishing and dive equipment.
On the upper floor there is a huge kitchen equipped with everything you might need. There is a living room with a 55-inch flat screen TV, cable, DVD, VHS, and stereo with a couch and lazy boy. The master bedroom has a king-size bed and walk in closet and a shared full bath. There is a second bedroom with a with two twin size beds. There is also an eating area with full dining room table and a breakfast bar. All linens and towels are included.
The lower level has a big recreation area with a 48" flat screen TV with Nintendo 64 for the kids. There is a large sofa for comfort. Also in the recreation. area are a second full-size refrigerator and a chest freezer for bait and ice and, all the fish and lobster that you can catch. The lower level has two bedrooms and a full bath. The downstairs Master is fully appointed with a King. The second bedroom has a King, and bunk w/full down and twin up. Full size W&D. There is also a brand new ping pong table in case inclement weather means that a ping pong tournament needs to break out.
Outside you will find a resort size pool with a Tiki complete with bar and comfortable furniture, a new stainless grill, layout area with 4 longe chairs, 100ft.of boat doackage with a 12'x30' boat slip, and a deluxe fish cleaning station with water. Two 2 person sit on top kayaks are also included. There is plenty of room to park vehicles and a boat trailer. A little slice of heaven !
As you can probably tell we have equipped Our Island Thing with everything that we would desire to have while on vacation because we use the house too. You will find the house relaxing, comfortable, clean, and convenient to what ever kind of Keys vacation you have in mind.
