REQUIREMENTS TO APPLY

*1* You Must be Fluent in English

*2* Minimum of 2 Years of College/University

*3* Clear Criminal Background (a private background check is accepted but applicants must go through Larisa the Placement Coordinator for Georgia)

*4* No Health Issues (medical check done at your own expense either in your home country or in Georgia where it is ~$40 USD)

*5* You must be able to get 2 reference letters (from employers or professors)

*6* Host families will only provide accommodation for one volunteer per household. No dependents (spouses/children or pets allowed)

Location: Georgia (Throughout the country. Volunteers are Assigned their City Placement)

Type of School: Public schools across Georgia (Elementary-High School)

Positions Available: 500+

Start Dates: the 15th & 30th of every month

Contract Length: 1 Semester (Sept-Dec or Jan-Jun) or

1 School Year (Departing on the 15th or 30th of Oct, Nov, Jan, or Feb & teaching until Jun)

Number of Students/Class: 15 students/class

Teaching Hours: 21-25 hours/week
Office Hours/Prep Time: 5-10/week

Schedule: Monday to Friday

Volunteer Stipend in Local Currency: 500 Georgia Lari/month tax-free
Volunteer Stipend in USD: approx. $300 USD/month stipend tax-free

Health Insurance: Local Medical Insurance Provided

Room & Board: Free Homestay and Meals (Homestays - living with a host family) are within walking distance to schools. Most volunteers will have internet access at the school or homestay. Homestays have been screened by the Georgian government.

Airfare: Pre-Paid Return Airfare

Vacation: 2 weeks paid vacation for 1 year contracts.1 week paid vacation for one semester contracts.

There is also up to 4 weeks unpaid vacation during Dec-Jan.

Bonus Information: Teachers that have signed on for one year are given a free flight home from Dec 20th and flown back on Jan 20th by the Georgian government
