Joseph Burke, DPM, F.A.C.F.S., A.B.O.P.P.M. - BELLMORE, NY

Dr. Burke opened his office in Wantagh/Bellmore area in 1987 and has been serving the community for over 23 years now. Dr. Burke is board certified in 2 specialties in podiatry and is a fellow of both the American Academy of Foot Surgeons as well as a Fellow of the American Academy of Foot Orthopedists and Primary Podiatric Medicine.

His interest in podiatry began because of his high school and college experience in track at Rutgers University. Upon needing foot treatment himself he realized an interest in the profession of podiatry. Upon completion of a double major in Biology and Psychology at Rutgers, he entered the New York College of Podiatric Medicine. After being honored Magna Cum Laude at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine in 1985, he successfully completed a surgical/medical residency program at Penninsula Hosptial center in New York. He now specializes in the biomechanics of the foot including custom orthotics therapy as well as surgical correction of foot deformities.

Dr. Burke is a diplomate of the american board of podiatric surgery and a diplomate of the american board of podiatric orthopedics and primary podiatric medicine. He has advanced training in specialized podiatric techniques including shockwave threapy for heel pain and a minimally invasive surgical technique called endoscopic plantar fasciotomy using micro cameras. His office is one of the first to use the new Noveon Laser Therapy in the treatment of fungus toenails.

He is a member in good standing at both of the hospitals he is associated with North Shore at Syosset Hospital Center as well as New Island Hospital, and is associated with the Nassau County Podiatric Medical Association.

Dr. Burke is married and remains fit as a recreational runner, enjoys boating, and is a certified scuba diver.
