Dr. Janice Anthony grew up in New York City but yearned for wide open space. She transferred from New York University to the University of Washington where her spirit grew. She feels that the Northwest is the most beautiful place she has ever found. In her "first life" she obtained a BA in Anthropology from UW and worked in the graphic arts industry. Although she enjoyed this very much, a certain something kept tugging at her heart and she went back to school to fulfill her need to help animals. She received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Washington State University and happily began to practice small animal medicine. In her time away from the hospital Dr. Anthony enjoys art, wildlife watching, hiking and many types of music, although not musically inclined herself! Dr. Anthony has been owned by more than 10 wonderful cats, 1 very special dog and has loved helping many foster dogs. She currently has 3 cats, all with hard luck histories and soft loving souls. She enjoys working with both dogs and cats, but she finds the feline species to be often misunderstood and for this reason, has a particular desire to be their advocate. She especially enjoys internal medicine and geriatric care and feels privileged to be able to help pets and people enjoy their time together in the best possible way. She finds all areas of veterinary medicine engaging and being a "family doctor" extremely satisfying.
