Dr. Stephanie Smith - BALLSTON SPA, NY

Dr. Smith is originally from Potsdam, NY and received her Bachelor of Science degree from Boston University in 1997. After graduation, Dr. Smith worked as a Veterinary Technician at Commonwealth Veterinary Hospital in Newton, MA.

She then went on to Tufts University in North Grafton, MA where she graduated in 2009, becoming a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. At the time she also received the Academic Excellence Award.

After graduating from Tufts, Dr. Smith went to practice at Pittsfield Veterinary Hospital for a year until she moved to the Capital Region in 2010 to be with her husband. She then worked as a small-animal veterinarian at Animal Health Center in Clifton Park from August 2010 through February 2013. She then joined the Ballston Spa Veterinary Clinic in March 2013.

Dr. Smith enjoys all aspects of Veterinary Medicine, but has a special interest in preventative medicine and geriatric patients. Having one of her own at home (Rio, who is 12 years old) has opened her eyes to the special needs of those patients. Her remaining animal family consists of two cats, Wally and Mabel, along with another dog, Hunter. In her free time she enjoys spending quality time her husband and two children, catching up with friends, and exploring the outdoors hiking and camping.
