There are two types of visa applications that can be filed, i.e., onshore and offshore. It is to be noted that the application process for both the offshore and onshore processes is quite similar. The offshore process is followed when the applicant is outside Australia when the partner visa application is made, and therefore, it is mandated that an applicant will be required to remain offshore until the offshore partner visa is approved. Whereas, in the onshore visa process, the applicant is presently on visa in Australia. The applicant is required to remain onshore until there is an outcome on the visa. It is to be noted that the approval of offshore visas process is quite lengthy in terms of time as there are various complications that are to be faced by the applicant in providing his relationship.
