Theresa Minton-Dowdy, MSPT Center Manager - ATCO, NJ

Theresa Dowdy is the Center Manager at NovaCare's clinic in Atco. Theresa is a NovaCare team member since 2007. Theresa provides the day-to-day operations for this facility as well as working with a wide variety of orthopedic patients. She is likewise skilled at creating and adapting physical therapy programs to help each patient reach their individual rehabilitative goals.

As a seasoned member of the NovaCare team, Theresa treats a broad spectrum of orthopedic injuries and post-surgical interventions including total knee arthroplasty and shoulder conditions. Throughout her years of exemplary patient service she has mastered manual therapy techniques with particular success noted in the treatment of patients with soft tissue injuries. A dedicated professional, Theresa is committed to treating each patient with the individual care they deserve.

Theresa is an alumna of Beaver College (now Arcadia University) in Glenside, Pennsylvania, where she earned her Master of Science Degree in 1996. Continuing education for Theresa includes a wealth of courses including Myofacial Release, State of Art Tissue Mobilization, Electro Therapeutic Point Stimulation (neuro-Mechanical Acupuncture point stimulation). Neuromechanical Therapy, Fall Prevention Among the Elderly, Use of Nintendo Wii in Rehabilitation, and Clinical Prediction Rules and Their Application in Selecting Interventions for Patients with Low Back Pain. She likewise participates in the Philadelphia Sports Medicine Conference. Theresa is certified in the application of Functional Capacity Evaluations and also certified in The Graston Technique, an advanced method of soft tissue mobilization to decrease pain and increase function. Currently Theresa is pursuing her Doctorate in Physical Therapy.

Theresa's Vision- As a physical therapist I believe in active listening during all sessions with my patients to gain the insight needed to establish a personalized program that will best benefit their individual goals. I fully engage each person in the rehabilitative process and work tirelessly to assist them in their recovery. Returning a patient to optimal health and an active lifestyle is my greatest measure of success.
