Maite Santos-Torres - APOPKA, FL

Dr. Maite Santos is originally from Puerto Rico. She obtained her bachelors in science and became a veterinary technologist from the University of Puerto Rico in 2008. After graduating as a veterinary technologist, Dr. Santos left Puerto Rico and moved to the United States to work as Registered Veterinary Technician for the Exotic/Zoo Department, Dermatology Department, and ER department at Kansas State University. Dr Santos then was admitted into veterinary school to fulfill her career dream and graduated as a Doctor in Veterinary Medicine from Kansas State University in 2015. Since graduation, Dr. Santos worked mostly as an overnight emergency veterinarian for a VCA hospital in Texas. Dr. Santos now moved to Florida to be closer to family and became an associate veterinarian at our VCA Piedmont Animal Hospital in May 2018. Dr. Santos special interests in veterinary medicine include internal medicine and dermatology. Dr. Santos is fluent in both English and Spanish. When not working Dr. Santos enjoys spending time with her family, exercising, dancing, and spending time outdoor.
